BOY, OH BOY

I think it's time for a little catch up on what's been going on around here...

Welcome to the 19th week of pregnancy...almost half-way there!!!  Over the past couple of weeks, I have been tormented by a terrible sinus infection/head cold/some alien encompassing my entire head, neck, and chest area.  It started about 3 days before the big Christmas Cantata at church.  Yep, the one where I had an entire song solo.  I woke up that morning, barely able to speak.  Got my CD out and attempted to sing my song...twice...and could not make it through without my voice cracking at least once each time.  So, being the stubborn Crutchfield that I am, I got ready for church anyway, armed myself with a couple of cough drops and a solo cup of Dr. Pepper, and headed to church.  I warned a couple of people that I was sick, didn't know if I could sing my song, or even if I could stand up the entire time the choir was supposed to be standing.  Amazingly enough, the entire program went very well.  I only had to sit down one time while the rest of the choir was standing.  And I very gently sang "Mary, Did You Know?" without ever missing a beat.  Sometimes, it is the small miracles God performs that amaze me the most!

Then it was time for the hustle and bustle of the Christmas festivities.  On Thursday, December 23, PJ and I took off to Hot Springs to finish up approximately 50% of our Christmas shopping.  (Yep, I inherited that from my mother!)  We were mostly successful, and no one died at our hands.  Another small miracle of the Lord's!  :)

Once that was completed, we had one more stop to make.  This stop was to attempt to get our parents (and us) a very special Christmas present.  As you may recall, my OB told me at the last appointment that she could not order my ultrasound for before Christmas.  She was afraid we wouldn't be able to tell, and then be out of insurance money for ultrasounds.  But, thanks to one of Santa's very special helpers (and one of my dearest friends), we were able to do a little sneak peaking!  Let's just say the Dr. Pinter's fear couldn't have been farther from the truth.  This little boy is very proud to show off everything that God has given him!  Oh wait, did I say little boy?

YEP!  We are having a BOY!!!!!!!!!!!  Hallelujah, Praise the Lord!  The greatest Christmas gift, ever!

Now, we just have to pick a name, come up with a nursery theme, this list could go on a while.  I'd rather just bask in the joy of knowing God answered my prayers with a big YES! for a few more days!
